Mr. Omar Burch-Smith is the Regional Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) Manager and leads the Management Company responsible for the operations of UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited, the first retail Mutual Fund to be launched in the ECCU. Mr. Burch-Smith provides strategic leadership for the growth and development of UTC Fund Management Services, UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited and the wider Mutual Fund industry in the ECCE.
He possesses over 15 years of progressive banking and finance experience, having most recently served as the Country Manager, St. Lucia and Senior Principal for a major Brokerage House in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
Prior to this, he served as Business Development Manager for the development, generation and co-ordination of new business in the Eastern Caribbean for the Brokerage House and as Corporate Relationship Manager at a leading national bank.
With a BSc. and MSc in Banking and Finance from the University of the West Indies, Mona and Cave Hill Campuses, respectively, Mr. Burch-Smith recently served as the Chairman of the Inner Working Group of OECS Securities Broker-Dealers (IWG) and the General Secretary of the Bankers’ Association of Saint Lucia.
